New Group winner for Sepoy

Salute The Soldier easily wins the G3 Burj Nahaar at Meydan

Salute The Soldier, a son of Sepoy, won his first Group race on Saturday, 7 March when easily taking the G3 Burj Nahaar over a mile on dirt at Meydan. Always travelling nicely under jockey Adrie de Vreis, he moved to the front at the top of the straight, eventually recording a five-and-a-half length victory.

Formally trained in the UK by Clive Cox, he was winning his sixth career race, and second for new trainer Fawzi Nass.

Bred by Alan Spence, Salute The Soldier is one of five winners bred by the Street Cry mare Street Fire, who also has a juvenile filly by Iffraaj.

Sepoy has now sired 15 Stakes winners including three-time G1 winner Alizee, Classic-winner Unforgetable Filly and G1 performers Dabyah and Indian Blessing.
