New G1 winner for Sepoy

Salute The Soldier makes all to win the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge R3 at Meydan

Salute The Soldier, a son of Sepoy, won his first G1 on Saturday, 6 March when making all the running in the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge R3 at Meydan. Always travelling nicely under jockey Adrie de Vreis, he asserted in the straight to record a one-and-three-quarter length victory. His likely next race will be the G1 Dubai World Cup later this month.

Salute The Soldier has now won eight of his 21 starts including the G2 Al Maktoum Challenge R2 in February and the G3 Burj Nahaar on Super Saturday last year.

Bred by Mr & Mrs P Hargreaves and Alan Spence, Salute The Soldier is one of five winners bred by the Street Cry mare Street Fire.

Sepoy is the sire of 11 Group scorers including three-time G1 winner Alizee, Classic-winner Unforgetable Filly and G1 performers Dabyah and Indian Blessing.
