New Stakes winner for Sepoy

Leopoldina strikes in German Listed race

Sepoy sired a new Stakes winner on Sunday, 20 September when his three-year-old daughter Leopoldina struck in the Listed Grosser Preis der Burckhardt. Run over a mile at Hannover, Leopoldina was always prominent before kicking into a clear lead off the home term, eventually winning by a eased down two lengths.

Bred by Petches Farm, Leopoldina is a daughter of the Verglas-mare Lady’s Art, who has also produced two further winners including the Stakes-placed Yakima.

Sepoy has now sired six Stakes winners in 2020 including star mare Alizee, wide-margin Dubai Group winner Salute The Soldier, Rosehill G3 heroine Sweet Scandal and European juvenile Group scorer Mighty Gurkha.
