Screen gets the photo finish

Five-year-old Lonhro mare Screen becomes the 30th Stakes winner for her sire

Lonhro mare Screen returned to racing with a nail-biting victory in the G3 Golden Pendant over 1200m at Rosehill on September 24 to become the last Stakes-winner for her sire. Screen has now won seven starts, three of which have been first up from a spell.

Trained by Peter Snowden and racing in the third set of Darley colours of Sheikh Mohammed, the mare finished strongly to defeat Gybe by the smallest of margins, providing Lonhro with his fourth Australian Stakes winner of the season. Skytrain, Raspberries and Pinwheel have provided Lonhro with his other three Stakes wins to date this season.

Bred by Woodlands Stud, Screen is out of the Zeditive mare Thespian, and is a half-sister to the Stakes-winning sprinter Brannigan.

Lonhro currently stands at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $77,000 (inc GST)
