Larimer Street races up to his promise to give Brazen Beau another Stakes winner

Colt wins Listed Valley Pearl at Moonee Valley

Brazen Beau, the current leading second-season sire by Stakes winners, registered his seventh Stakes winner when Larimer Street raced up to the form he’d shown in his first three starts to win the Listed Valley Pearl at Moonee Valley on Friday, 20 March.

Despite being given an ideal ride by Damien Oliver, Larimer Street found himself in trouble at the top of the short Valley straight and had to force his way into the clear in time to make his winning bid.

Once into the open, the colt accelerated brilliantly to score a convincing three-quarter length win over Vangelic.

Larimer Street had shown plenty of potential with placing at each of his first three starts, most recently when second in the G2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

The colt is a daughter of the unraced Redoute’s mare Original Choice who is a three-quarter sister another Brazen Beau stakes winner, Ideas Man.

Larimer Street is also a member of an impressive family including the brilliant Innovation Girl put together by his breeder and part-owner Des Pope.

Brazen Beau stood his most recent season at Northwood Park in Victoria.
