Exceed And Excel further enhances his reputation as most successful sire of juvenile Stakes winners at stud

Filly makes it three-from-three in Queen Adelaide Stakes at Morphettville

The position held by Exceed And Excel as the world’s leading sire of juvenile winners received yet another endorsement when filly Forever Free maintained her unbeaten record in the Listed Queen Adelaide Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday, 2 May.

Forever Free had won at her only two previous starts and showed too much speed and tenacity for her rivals, leading throughout to score by a length from Hard Rock Girl with Zoushine in third place.

The win made the filly Exceed And Excel’s 168th Stakes winner. She was already one of her sire’s 496 two-year-old winners.

Forever Free also continued a strong overall season for Exceed And Excel whose outstanding Hong Kong-based son Mr Stunning last week won his third G1 while his son Bivouac and his daughter Queen Supreme have also won G1s in 2020.

After taking control from the jump, Forever Free resisted mid-race pressure to hold the fence and then come away to score clearly.

The filly who was bred by David Moodie’s Heskett Bloodstock and is raced by her breeder, is from the Twining mare Soaressa and is a sister to the Stakes winner Thermal Current and is either as sister or half-sister to four other winners from six to race.

Exceed and Excel will stand the 2020 southern hemisphere breeding season at Kelvinside, NSW at a fee of $132,000, including GST.
