Zapateo takes her second Stakes victory and gave Brazen Beau his 19th Stakes win when she easily won the G3 How Now Stakes over 1,200m at Caulfield on Saturday, 17 September.
This mare is out of the Australian mare Jerezana, beat A Very Fine Red by just over a length with Coco Rox another half-length away in third place.
Zapateo raced in fourth spot and came widest on the track in the home straight to win by a solid margin.
In doing so, she improved her record under Godolphin head trainer James Cummings to four wins and four placings from ten starts for $442,800 in prize money.
Jerezana was a Listed winner of the 2011 Ramornie Handicap (1,200m) at Grafton in 2011 and is also the dam of Osborne Bulls, Sedition, Mercury and the unraced Street Boss two-year-old colt Zaragoza.
Brazen Beau was a dual G1 winner on the track and has already sired a G1-winning two-year-old.
Brazen Beau stands at Darley’s Northwood Park property near Seymour in Victoria for a service fee of $44,000, including GST.
