Brandons’mylawyer the best without a doubt at Del Mar

Astern filly an impressive winner with other daughter Tom's Beauty third

A little less than an hour after Astern's son Sail By finished a game third to Street Sense's Miss Interpret in the P. G. Johnson Stakes at Saratoga, it was a first and third finish by his daughters Brandon'smylawyer and Tom's Beauty at Del Mar on 2 September.

Brandon'smylawyer broke alertly and was travelling next to Tom's Beauty as the field neared the first quarter. Following a slight check on the backside, Brandon'smylawyer settled into third and made steady progress on the leaders as the field neared the top of the stretch. She then ran down the leaders in mid-stretch and pulled away for the win with Tom's Beauty getting up for third at the wire.

Brandon'smylawyer is out of a daughter of Pulpit, Ivory Pearl, she a daughter of the G1-winning mare Mea Domina. Brandon'smylawyer was a $340,000 two-year-old at the 2021 Ocala Breeders' April Sale.

Astern is also is represented by North American winners and Stakes-placed runners, G3-placed Mainstay and the aforementioned Sail By and his latest, as well as Stakes-placed C J's Cat Five, third in the Jamestown Stakes at Colonial Downs on 1 September.

In Australia, he is represented by the undefeated two-year-old filly Seradess, winner of the Listed Cinderella Stakes, along with other "down under" juvenile Stakes winner Danger Strykes.
