Bivouac shines in Longines World’s Best Racehorse awards for 2020

Australia's star sprinter rated 125 on the world stage

Bivouac emphatically announced himself as the best Australian son of Darley’s leading Australian stallion Exceed And Excel with a resounding 3.2 length domination in the G1 Darley Sprint Classic at Flemington on the final day of the 2020 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Bivouac's phenomenal 12 months were officially recognised by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, who awarded Australia's Champion 3YO Colt a rating of 125 at the Longines World’s Best Racehorse virtual ceremony for 2020 on Tuesday, 26 January.

Bivouac, one of only two Australian-bred horses of the Longines award to receive a rating of 125, shared top honours with the $15 million The Everest winner Classique Legend, who he ran second to in the world's richest race on turf in 2020 at Randwick.

One rating point short of second-equal place, Bivouac prepares for further G1 glory as he looks to commence his final campaign in the G1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes before joining the Darley stallions' roster later in 2021.
