Bivouac back with a bang in G3 Vain Stakes

Son of Exceed And Excel gives promise of a successful three-year-old season with stunning victory

An electric turn of foot has given Bivouac a stunning start to his three-year-old campaign in the G3 Vain Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, 17 August.

Bivouac is the first of last season’s outstanding crop of two-year-olds to return to racing in the new season, and he made the transition in style, bursting clear in the final 200m to win by 4.25 lengths.

Already a G3 winner last autumn, the son of Exceed And Excel served notice that more important wins were ahead as he stormed to victory under Hugh Bowman.

Bivouac is out of the More Than Ready mare Dazzler whose three runners to date have all been winners.

Dazzler is out of Camarilla, the mother of the G1-winning mare Guelph and a member of one of Godolphin’s best Australian families.

Exceed And Excel is set to commence southern hemisphere breeding season at Kelvinside, NSW at a fee of $88,000 including GST.
