Beaded to visit Street Cry

G1-winning Lonhro mare Beaded retires

Following her run in the Doomben 10,000 on Saturday, May 26, Darley have decided to retire their brilliant Lonhro mare Beaded.

Retiring from the track with an outstanding record of 10 wins and 13 placings from 27 starts, having won the G1 Doomben 10,000 last year and was G1 placed on a further five occasions, including the Newmarket Handicap behind Black Caviar.

Darley’s head trainer, Peter Snowden, said today “She owes us nothing and deserves to go stud. She was as big as an ant, but fought well above her weight and gave everything in all of her races.”

Having earned $1,618,000 in prizemoney, Beaded is Lonhro’s second highest Stakes earner, behind the unbeaten two-year-old colt Pierro.

Bred by Woodlands Stud, Beaded is a half-sister to the G1 performer Rarefied, while her dam Subtle is a half-sister to Commands' G1 winner Undue.

Beaded is set to visit with Darley’s Champion USA stallion Street Cry, the sire of 13 individual G1 winners, during the forthcoming breeding season.
