Improving filly Motorsports capped off a strong month for Street Boss progeny when she powered down the centre of the track to win the G3 Blue Sapphire Stakes for three-year-olds at Caulfield on Saturday, 29 November.
Trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy at Flemington, Motorsports settled second-last in the 10-horse field before sweeping around the pack from the home turn under jockey Harry Coffey.
Having her third career start and coming off a Pakenham maiden win just 22 days earlier, she defeated Recuperato by three-quarters of a length, with Regeneration a length away in third, stopping the clock at 1:10.84 on Soft 6 ground.
Bred from dual Stakes-winning Exceed And Excel mare Jorda, Motorsports is a half-sister to Buades by Lonhro, has a two-year-old full sister named Tatiana, and a yearling half-sister by Anamoe.
Her victory made her the 86th individual Stakes winner for Street Boss, whose runners have now won 3,176 races worldwide for just under A$176 million in prizemoney.
The win continues a purple patch for the sire: Green Spaces claimed the G3 Spring Stakes at Newcastle two weeks ago, shortly after Calamari Ring won on debut in the Restricted Listed Inglis 2YO Banner at Flemington.
Godolphin star Tentyris also boosted the tally earlier this month, becoming Street Boss’s 11th G1 winner when taking out the Coolmore Stud Stakes.
