Tentyris powers to Gothic Stakes victory at Caulfield

Street Boss colt Tentyris showed again his finishing strength with a remarkable victory on the Listed Gothic Stakes over 1,200m at Caulfield on Saturday, 18 October.

Second to last on the home turn in the field of seven, Tentyris weaved between runners before charging to the line to beating Raging Force by a half-length, with Sheza Alibi 1.5 lengths away in third place.

Second-up from a spell, the three-year-old covered the distance in a smart 1 minute 9.35 seconds for jockey Mark Zahra and now looks certain to take his place in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes down the straight 1,200m course at Flemington next month.

It was the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained colt’s third victory at Black-Type level and lifted his record to three wins and two placings from six starts for prize-money and bonuses totalling $768,100.

Tentyris dead-heated in the Listed Talindert Stakes 1,100m for juveniles at Flemington in February before finishing an unlucky second in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes over 1,200m at Caulfield.

The chestnut then came from second-last at the home turn to win the G2 Todman Stakes over 1,200m at Randwick on 8 March before a slight leg injury forced him to the paddock.

Out of the Exceed And Excel mare Deity, who is a daughter of four-time G1 winner Divine Madonna, Tentyris has a two-year-old half-sister by Blue Point (Parcae) and a half-sister foal by Anamoe.

Street Boss continues to enjoy great success worldwide, with Tentyris his fifth Stakes winner in the past six weeks.

Pericles (out of Accessories) won the G2 Tramway Stakes over 1,400m at Randwick on 6 September, a day before Quiet Street (Serene) won the Listed Untappable Stakes 1,300m at Kentucky Downs.

On 13 September, Tempted (Calliope) captured the G2 Run To The Rose over 1,200m at Rosehill Gardens, before Fleet Street (Summers Hope) took the Listed Clasico Gelinotte 1,400m at La Rinconada.

The stallion has now sired 1044 winners of 3142 races, including 83 Stakes winners of 171 Black-Type events.

Street Boss stands at Darley’s Northwood Park property in Victoria for a service feee of $66,000, GST inclusive.
