Royal Birth wins the Hever Sprint Stakes

Son of Exceed And Excel wins his first Stakes race at Lingfield

Royal Birth, a son of Exceed And Excel, landed his seventh career race, and first at Stakes level, on Saturday 25 February when taking the Listed Hever Sprint at Lingfield Park. Held up early in the five furlong contest, he squeezed through to win going away by half-a-lengh from Shamardal’s Stakes-winning son Lancelot du Lac.

Bred by Old Mill Stud, S Williams & J Parry, Royal Birth is a son of the juvenile winner Princess Georgina (Royal Applause), who is a sister to Group performing juveniles Mister Cosmi and Auditorium.

Exceed And Excel sired 26 individual Black type winners in 2016, headed by multiple G1 winner Flamberge and record-breaking juvenile Yalta. He has also started 2017 in blistering form, with multiple G2-winner Championship heading his four Stakes winners.
