Well deserved first Stakes win for Belgian Bill

Son of Exceed And Excel lands the Anatolia Trophy in Turkey

Belgian Bill, the evergreen son of Exceed And Excel, gained his first Stakes victory on Saturday 3 September when taking the Listed Anatolia Trophy (a local G2) in Turkey. In a career that has seen him race in six different countries, he was well equipped in the sprint to the line off a slow early pace to defeat Farhh’s full brother Basem into second.

Bred by Wickfield Stud and Hartshill Stud, Belgian Bill is the best performer out of the winning Singspiel mare Gay Romance, a half-sister to top miler Hawksley Hill.

Exceed And Excel has now sired 16 Stakes winners in 2016 including top-flight scorer Flamberge and Group-winning juveniles Yalta and Hit The Bid. He is standing this current season at Kelvinside at a fee of $110,000 inc. GST.
