Striking first Stakes success for daughter of Exceed And Excel

Miss Celestial bolts up in the Listed Queen Charlotte Fillies’ Stakes

A striking run saw Miss Celestial, a four-year-old daughter of Exceed And Excel, claim her first Stakes victory taking the Listed Queen Charlotte Fillies’ Stakes at Chelmsford on Saturday, 4 July. Previously placed in Black Type company at two and three, the filly built on her previous second at Newbury in June, leading from the off and streaking clear in the final two furlongs.

Hailing from the famed Ballymacoll Stud and purchased for 180,000gns at Tattersales October Yearling Sale, Miss Celestial is the best performer from G3 Musidora Stakes heroine Liber Nauticus (Azamour). She is out of a half-sister to multiple G1 winner Conduit and from the extended family of G1 E.P. Taylor Stakes winner Blond Me.

The exceptional shuttle stallion Exceed And Excel is the sire of 15 individual G1 winners including three in 2020 with Mr Stunning, Bivouac and Queen Supreme all striking at the highest level. His record as a sire of juveniles is unsurpassed establishing a new record in June when siring his 500th individual two-year-old winner.
