Street Boss represented by first Stakes winner

Bosco remains unbeaten with an impressive victory in the Edmonton Juvenile

Following up on his widening, seven-length victory earlier this month, Street Boss’ two-year-old son Bosco made it two-for-two lifetime with a dominant win in the Edmonton Juvenile Stakes over 1200m at Northlands Park, in Canada, on July 21. Always prominent, the strapping chestnut made every call a winning one en route to an impressive victory, becoming the first Stakes winner for his sire.

Bosco is the fifth winner from the first five foals out of his dam, Fly Borboleta, a G2-placed daughter of perennial leading sire Pulpit. Hers is also the family of the influential progenitor Raise a Native. Fly Borboleta, a US$700,000 sale two-year-old at Fasig-Tipton, also has a 2012 yearling by Street Boss.

Street Boss, a multiple G1 winner and record setter, is the leading freshman sire of 2012 by sales average in North America. His two-year-old graduates this year include the US$430,000 top-priced filly and the US$825,000 second highest-priced colt.

With three additional 2012 winners, no other USA freshman sire has sired more this year, a progressive group of individuals that include two debutant turf winners in Europe.

Standing the forthcoming breeding season at Darley's Northwood Park at a fee of $11,000 (inc. GST), Street Boss' first southern hemisphere-bred crop sold as yearling this year and will turn two on August 1st.
