Sons of Street Boss salute at Group level

Anamoe and Pericles produce a dominant feature-race triumph

Godolphin stable star Anamoe and rising star Pericles won feature races on Saturday, 25 February in Sydney and Melbourne to shine the spotlight on Darley shuttler Street Boss.

Anamoe collected his eighth G1 victory and took his record to 13 wins and seven placings from 23 starts when he raced away with the G1 Chipping Norton Stakes over 1,600 meters at Royal Randwick.

Jockey James McDonald brought the four-year-old down the centre of the track to race clear of Fangirl and Mo’unga.

Out of Stakes-winning Australian mare Anamato, Anamoe’s four-year-old campaign has seen him amass five individual G1 victories with a visit to Royal Ascot on the horizon.

Pericles, whose dam is English mare Accessories, won the G2 Autumn Classic for three-year-olds at Sandown and became Street Boss’s fourth individual three-year-old Group winner.

Beautifully ridden by premier jockey Jamie Kah, Pericles burst through on the inside at the 300-meter mark after enjoying a perfect run in transit behind the leaders.

Pericles, who took his record to two wins and two placings from five starts, beat Mr Maestro and Ausbred Rising Sun by nearly three lengths.

A dual G1 winner, Street Boss won seven races and was placed four times from just 13 starts.

The stallion has 62 Stakes winners worldwide, including eight at G1 level.
