Tempted adds to stellar season for Street Boss in G2 win

Brilliant three-year-old filly shines on second day of The Championships at Randwick

Outstanding filly Tempted underlined the versatility of the progeny of Street Boss with an almost contemptuous win in the G2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint at Randwick.

A week after Street Boss’s son Green Spaces proved a superior stayer in claiming the G1 ATC Australian Derby over 2,400m, Tempted gave a typically fleet-footed display to capture the 1,200m race for three-year-olds.

Tempted was allowed time to settle from an awkward barrier before sweeping up from midfield and having the race in her keeping at the 200m.

She scored by 1-1/4 lengths in the set weights contest and the margin could have been greater if jockey Chad Schofield had wished.

Tempted’s victory was a reward for placement with last year’s G1 Everest runner-up having her first start since a breakthrough G1 win in the Surround Stakes over 1,400m at Randwick at the start of the Sydney autumn carnival.

She is unbeaten in three starts in 2026 for trainer Ciaron Maher.

Street Boss is the sire of four Australian G1 winners this season, with Tentyris, Pericles and Green Spaces joining Tempted as having success at the elite level.

The sire of nine-time Australian G1 winner Anamoe, Street Boss’s yearlings sold up to $400,000 at the recent Australian Easter Yearling Sale and NZ$475,000 at the National Yearling Sale at Karaka in New Zealand.

Worldwide, Street Boss has sired 1075 winners, including 88 individual Stakes winners at a strike-rate of almost six per cent in Black Type events.
