Secret Trail makes Stakes breakthrough in Listed Bright Shadow Stakes

Doomben victory makes filly ninth Stakes winner for Denman

An overpowering finish carried Secret Trail to a victory in the Listed Bright Shadow Stakes at Doomben that made her the ninth Stakes winner for her sire Denman.

For Secret Trail, the win was her fifth from 25 starts and confirmed the potential she had always shown.

Although she is trained in Sydney, the victory was her third in Brisbane, and clearly her best.

Denman won nine of his 12 races, including the G1 Golden Rose and, like Secret Trail, was trained for his owner, Sheikh Mohammed, by Peter Snowden.

Secret Trail is out of the Secret Savings mare Trail Of Secrets and is from a family that includes the G1-winning sprinter Gold Trail.

Denman will stand the coming southern hemisphere season at a fee of $8,800 including GST at Kelvinside in New South Wales.
