Lightly raced three-year-old wins Tasmanian classic at in Hobart

Cossetot has scored another landmark victory for his sire Epaulette with his convincing win in the Listed Tasmanian Derby at Elwick in Hobart on Friday, 8 February.

Epaulette is enjoying consistent success with his two crops to race with Cossetot giving his 17th success for 2019 and his first in a Derby.

A winner at three of his five starts, he becomes Epaulette’s fifth Stakes winner, that list being headed by South African G1 winner Soqrat.

Cossetot also emphasised the versatility of Epaulette who has produced winners from 1,000m to 2,400m, with Friday’s victory coming at 2,200m

Cossetot is out of the unraced Canny Lad mare Ouachita, a half-sister to the good racehorse and Darley stallion Denman.
