Second Group victory for daughter of Exceed And Excel

Sacred impresses in the G2 Hungerford Stakes

Sacred, a three-year-old daughter of Exceed And Excel, impressed on Saturday, 14 August when showing a devastating turn of foot to land the G2 Hungerford Stakes. Held up near the rear in the seven furlong contest, the G3 Nell Gwyn heroine burst through in the final furlong to win going away by a length.

Owned and bred by Cheveley Park Stud, Sacred is a daughter of the winning mare Sacre Caroline (Blame), a half-sister to US Champion Lady Eli.

Among Exceed And Excel’s 96 Group winners are 16 that have won at the highest level. They include the Champion sprinter Bivouac, who is just about to start his first season at stud at a fee of $66,000 at Kelvinside in NSW.
