Record result headlines strong Inglis Easter for Too Darn Hot

$2.2 million colt leads pair of seven-figure yearlings

Too Darn Hot delivered another standout set of results at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, highlighted by a record-breaking colt that topped his offering at $2,200,000.

Lot 288, the colt from Enbihaar, was offered by Widden Stud and purchased by Watership Down, McKeever Bloodstock and Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing, becoming the highest-priced yearling by the sire in Australia. In doing so, Too Darn Hot joined a select group of just 20 stallions to produce a yearling sold for $2 million or more.

He was one of two seven-figure yearlings, with Lot 374, the colt from La Magique, realising $1,300,000. Offered by Grenville Stud in Tasmania, he was secured by EA & WA Huglin and Clarke Bloodstock, underlining the strength of demand across leading vendors.

Another highlight came with Lot 303, the colt from Fairey Barracuda, which sold for $975,000 through Sledmere Stud to Zhang Linsheng.

Across nine yearlings offered, Too Darn Hot recorded an aggregate of $6,765,000, with an average of $751,667 and a median of $440,000, reinforcing his position among the most commercially sought-after stallions in the market.

The sale performance follows continued racetrack success for Too Darn Hot, who recorded another G1 winner on Sunday when Native Approach captured the G1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan.
