New Stakes winner for Commands

She Rules becomes the 34th Stakes winner for her sire

Enjoying a stellar period with his progeny on the track, Commands was represented by his fifth individual Stakes winner for the season when five-year-old mare She Rules scored a devastating three-and-a-quarter length victory in the G3 Cuddle Stakes over a mile at Trentham, New Zealand on October 23.

Trained by Brett McDonald, the Andrew Calder-ridden mare recorded her seventh career victory from 18 starts.

Bred by the New Zealand-based Whakanui Stud, She Rules is the fourth winner out of the G1 New Zealand Oaks-winning Kenfair mare She’s Country. From the family of Stakes winner Taamer, Country Lane, Mercedes Won and Augusta Proud, She Rules is the 34th Stakes winner for Commands.

Having one of his best season to date, highlighted by the G1 Spring Champion Stakes winner Erewhon and the lightly-raced G2-winning three-year-old Soul, Commands is one of only four stallions to finish in the top ten stallions on the general sire table for the last five consecutive seasons.

Commands is standing the current season at Darley’s Kelvinside property at a fee of $66,000 including GST.

Later on the same day, Street Cry’s dual G1-winning five-year-old Whobegotyou finished third in the G1 WS Cox Plate.
