Just two lots earlier, his filly out of Achievable, a half-sister to G1 winner and Stakes producer True Jewels sold for A$600,000 (£277,247). He currently stands third in the leading sires’ table with an average of A$286,500.

There was also success for Shamardal (whose first yearlings go through the ring this year) when Patinack Farm were once again in action, giving A$270,000 (£124,761) for his colt out of Brun Chanel.

On the same day, unbeaten multiple G1 winner Reset sired his first Australian winner when Rebel Raider obliged at the second time of asking to take the 1400m Handicap at Cheltenham.

Reset reverse-shuttled to Dalham Hall Stud for two seasons and his first northern hemisphere crop are now two-year-olds.
