Exceed And Excel colt tops Millions day two

After a strong opener, a $360,000 foal leads second session at Gold Coast Weanling Sale

Following a great start to the Magic Millions Weanling Sale, with four Exceed And Excel fillies selling for an average of $170,000 (£82,500), the young stallion’s progeny was again in demand at the Gold Coast with a colt selling for $360,000 (£175,000) to top the second day’s trade.

Consigned as part of the Swettenham Stud draft for Bellerive Stud, the colt, lot 330, out of Miss Behave (Bold Revenue) was sold to Michael Clements on behalf of Noble Bloodstock in New Zealand. He is a half-brother to two multiple winners in Rotarian and Clasp.

The opening day had included four daughters of Exceed And Excel who all found new homes for six-figure sums, the highest priced being a filly out of Alpine Spirit (Kenmare) from the immediate family of Darley Australia stallion Gonski, who sold for $310,000 (£150,500)

The sale continues.
