Elusive Quality colt proves tough at Belmont

Beau Choix rallies for third career stakes win

After tracking the leaders throughout the one and one-sixteenth mile feature at Belmont on July 7, Elusive Quality's Beau Choix was able to squeeze through on the rail and get up in the final strides for a hard-fought win in the Listed Rob N Gin Stakes at Belmont. The four-year-old, who is also G1-placed in the Jamaica Handicap, registered his third lifetime added-money win.

Owned and bred by Belle Meadows Stable and Lael Stable, Beau Choix is out of the G2 Stakes winner Belle Cherie, a half-sister to dual G1 winner Octave. Belle Cherie is also the dam of Stakes winner Last Best Place and Stakes-placed Belle Cherie Mary. In addition, she has a two-year-old full sister to Beau Choix and a 2011 yearling colt by fellow Darley stallion Street Sense.

Beau Choix is one of 71 career Stakes winners for Elusive Quality whose sire resume reflects seven G1 winners, including Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, multiple G1 winner Quality Road and Australia’s two-year-old champion in-waiting, Sepoy.
