Dominating G2 victory for son of Exceed And Excel

Secret Ambition the runaway winner of the G2 Godolphin Mile

Secret Ambition, a son of Exceed And Excel, added a third Stakes victory when taking the G2 Godolphin Mile at Meydan on Saturday, 27 March.

A winner of the G3 Firebreak Stakes over course and distance in February, Secret Ambition kicked clear at the two furlong pole, running out under jockey Tadhg O’Shea to win easily by a devastating six lengths.

Bred by Darley, Secret Ambition is the first foal out of a Singspiel half-sister to G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois victor Librettist and G1 Queen Anne Stakes hero Dubai Destination. They are out of an Alleged half-sister to dual G1-winning sprinter Agnes World and Champion Japanese runner Hishi Akebono.

The evergreen Exceed And Excel is the sire of 183 Stakes winners worldwide and already the sire of four Group winners in 2021, lead by the G1 Paddock Stakes victrix Queen Supreme. After calling time on a successful shuttling career at Kildangan Stud in Ireland, Exceed And Excel returned to Kelvinside, NSW for the final time last year.
