Darley sires continue to shine at Saratoga

Medaglia d'Oro colt and half to Cross Traffic sells for $600,000

After Medaglia d'Oro sired the first session's top-priced colt at $875,000, Darley sires continued to be well represented on day two of Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga Select Yearling Sale.

Early on, Crupi's New Castle Farm signed the ticket for $140,000 for lot 95, a Street Boss colt from the Adena Springs consignment. The colt is out of G2 winner Lady Isella, a half-sister to G2 winner Sir Cherokee and Stakes winner Guam Typhoon.

Just moments later lot 97, a Medaglia d'Oro colt, was knocked down for $250,000 to the Elkstone Group. Consigned by Eaton Sales, the colt is out of Stakes winner Moonlightandbeauty and is a half-brother to G3 winner Giant Moon. The colt's second dam is G2 Demoiselle Stakes winner Stolen Beauty.

Lot 134, a son of Medaglia d'Oro, landed a huge update over the weekend when his half-brother Cross Traffic took the G1 Whitney Handicap at Saratoga. With a final bid of $600,000, Rick Porter purchased the colt out of G1 winner Stop Traffic, who was consigned by Taylor Made.
