Darley’s stallions have sired 14 individual winners of 18 G1 races in the last twelve months including Street Cry ($110,000 inc. GST), one of the world’s most exceptional stallions whose four G1 winners of the last year include Shocking and wonder-mare Zenyatta; Shamardal ($88,000 inc. GST), whose Captain Sonador, Lope de Vega and Casamento added to Champion Faint Perfume’s two G1’s of the spring and autumn before; Medaglia d’Oro ($77,000 inc. GST), who has rapidly emerged as one of the best and most exciting stallions in the world; Commands ($66,000 inc. GST), Australia’s leading sire by winners whose latest G1 winners are Skilled and Erewhon; the remarkable Bernardini ($38,500 inc. GST), who is the only first-season sire ever to get G1 winners on the turf and dirt; Domesday ($22,000 inc. GST) sire of a juvenile G1 winner from his first crop and Australia’s leading sire of three-year-old Stakes winners this season; and Exceed And Excel ($66,000 inc. GST), Australia’s leading sire of two-year-olds and Darley’s most recent source of G1 success with Helmet’s easy win in the Sires’ Produce Stakes.

In addition to Street Cry’s best son Street Sense ($38,500 inc. GST) who is this year’s leading first season sire at the sales, his fastest son Street Boss ($13,750 inc. GST) will also return to Australia this spring.

Henry Plumptre, Darley’s Managing Director in Australia said, “The Darley stallions have enjoyed their best year yet.  From our youngsters Nadeem and Ad Valorem who have had their first two-year-olds running this season, to our proven stallions such as Street Cry, Shamardal, Lonhro and Commands, we really have had a tremendous year.  Looking forward, we are enthusiastic about our six stallion prospects with their first two-year-olds running later this year and are encouraged by the progeny of our even younger horses, some of which will feature at the forthcoming breeding stock sales. We look forward to offering breeders a roster of outstanding quality and talking to our clients in the coming months.”
