Cellarmaster, an improving three-year-old son of Bivouac, continued his sire’s strong form on Saturday, July 4, with a striking victory in the G3 Winx Guineas, the feature mile at the Sunshine Coast. The gelding, trained in Sydney by Tom Charlton, finished with a withering, from-behind run to win by a neck.
Only lightly raced, Cellarmaster was Group-placed heading into the Guineas, bringing his career to three wins and three placings from 11 starts.
Bred in New Zealand and sold at Magic Millions for $260,000 to a John O’Shea-James Bester partnership, he is the first foal from the Tavistock mare Moet Belle, a half-sister to New Zealand Horse of the Year and Champion Sprinter/Miler Melody Belle, as well as the dual stakes winner Tutukaka.
Cellarmaster has continued Bivouac’s flourish of feature winners, with Fireball Miss winning the G1 Queensland Oaks last month and joining dual G1 winner Beiwacht among her sire’s top-shelf progeny to date.
Bivouac sits firmly in the Australian sire picture with six stakes winners, and currently leads the second-season sire table ahead of Wootton Bassett and Farnan.
He heads into the 2026 Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Kelvinside, standing at $33,000 (inc GST).
