Blues Street cruises in G3 River City Handicap

Third Graded Stakes win for son of Street Cry

Already a two-time Graded Stakes winner, Street Cry’s Blues Street notched yet another in Churchill's G3 River City Handicap November 19. The son of Street Cry's victories include the G2 Mervin Muniz Jr. Memorial Handicap and the G3 Fair Grounds Handicap.

The seven-year-old veteran remained off the pace during the one and one-eighth mile turf race. Entering the turn he swung wide and charged in the stretch to post a strong runaway victory.

Bred by Harriet Finkelstein, Blues Street is a half-brother to Graded-placed Beale Street. He is out of Capote Blues, by Capote, who is a half-sister to Stakes winners Storm Street and Forest Blue.

Street Cry, an international leader, is the sire of some of the world’s top runners. In 2011, his best include the unbeaten G1 Fillies’ Mile winner Lyric Of Light and Australian G1 winner Shocking. He is also represented by the legendary Horse of the Year Zenyatta, as well as G1 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense and multiple G1 winner Street Boss.

Street Cry is standing the southern hemisphere breeding season for $110,000 (inc. GST).
