Godolphin colt Beiwacht has added further to his future stud appeal after dominating a high-class field to win the Group One All Aged Stakes at Randwick.
A winner of the stallion-making three-year-old race, the G1 Golden Rose over 1,400m at the start of the Australian racing season in September, Beiwacht (Bivouac) returned to his brilliant best at Randwick on Saturday, 18 April.
Taken straight to the front by jockey Nash Rawiller, Beiwacht always travelled like a winner in the weight-for-age contest over 1,400m.
The only three-year-old but one of 11 G1 winners in the Sydney autumn grand finale, Beiwacht established a clear advantage at the 200m before scoring by almost a length.
“There was plenty of confidence in the camp (today). He’s a young horse with a very bright future,” trainer Chris Waller said.
“They had their chance to run him down, and like the Golden Rose, when he rolls at a good high pressure, he's a very good horse.”
“Things just haven't gone his way in the last couple of runs.”
With two G1 triumphs to his name, Beiwacht is the best-performed so far of Bivouac’s first-crop progeny.
From 99 foals to race, Bivouac is the sire of 43 winners of 65 races. His other Stakes-winning progeny include G2 winner Intention, G3 victor Big Sky and Luana Lass, successful at Listed level.
During a distinguished racing career, Bivouac collected G1 victories in the Golden Rose, VRC Sprint Classic and Newmarket Handicap.
He is out of the Australian-bred mare Dazzler, and hails from the family of Camarilla, the dam of four-time G1 winner Guelph as well as G2 Todman Stakes winner Ghibellines.
Bivouac’s yearlings have been well-received again during the 2026 round of Australasian sales, fetching up to $300,000.
