Quiet Street kept her perfect record intact and became a first-time Stakes winner to boot with a sharp, one-length victory in the $1 million Untapable Stakes at Kentucky Downs on Sunday, 7 Sept.
The two-year-old daughter of Street Boss, who broke her maiden in her debut on the lawn at Saratoga last time out, led home a Darley-sired exacta with Midshipman’s Stakes-winning daughter, Snow Face Princess, filling the place spot.
Quiet Street broke well and was settled to race with the second flight of fillies as Carolyncaroline went to the front to set the pace. The chestnut filly was tipped out to the center of the course for the stretch run and produced a quick turn of foot to garner the one-length victory. Snow Face Princess had to settle for second, with Believe in Magic third.
Quiet Street races as a homebred for Godolphin; she is out the winning Tapit mare, Serene, and hails from the immediate family of Graded Stakes winners Bodemeister (G1), Under the Stars (G2) and Untouched Talent (G3).
Street Boss boasts 83 individual Stakes winners of 168 Black-Type races and is the sire of 10 G1 winners, is standing at Darley’s Northwood Park farm in Victoria this season for a service fee of $66,000, GST inclusive.
