In a stallion market driven by perception, Kermadec is quietly letting the numbers do the talking.
At an average service fee of just $16,844 over seven years, Kermadec is delivering results that rival and often outperform, some of Australia’s most expensive, headline stallions.
Put simply: his runners are more likely to be G1 winners than those by Snitzel, Written Tycoon, I Am Invincible, Dundeel, Zoustar, Pierro and many more.
It’s a remarkable statistic and one that’s starting to turn heads - especially at the sales. In 2025, a Kermadec colt sold for $300,000, marking his strongest result since 2019’s $520,000 top lot. In between, there’s been steady commercial interest:
- 2019: $520,000
- 2020: $270,000
- 2021: $150,000
- 2022: $260,000
- 2023: $180,000
- 2024: $100,000
- 2025: $300,000
It’s a long game, and Kermadec is proving he’s worth the wait. With four individual G1 winners already to his name, and a proven ability to produce elite-level talent, his appeal continues to grow with every season.
“He’s shown time and time again he can produce genuine G1 horses and not many at this level can say that.” – Lisa Manning, Nominations Manager, Victoria
“To get four individual G1 winners off a service fee like his - that’s almost unheard of,” Lisa adds.
“He’s delivering the kind of results you’d expect from a much higher-priced stallion and that’s exactly why breeders should be looking his way.”
