Who Took the Money grabs the cash in Louisiana Champions Day Turf

Consistent son of Street Boss notches his 10th win from 15 career starts

Who Took the Money found the winner’s circle once again as he overhauled Smarty Alex in deep stretch and drew off to post a two-and-a-half length victory in the Louisiana Champions Day Turf at Fair Grounds on Saturday, 7 January.

The five-year-old Street Boss gelding was winning the race for the second time, having also captured it as a three-year-old in 2020. Who Took the Money, now a six-time Stakes winner, improved his overall record to 10 wins and three third-place finishes in 15 starts.

Who Took the Money was settled off of the pace in sixth early, racing between horses as Maga Man set the early pace. Who Took the Money moved to the outside on the far turn before launching his rally at the three-sixteenths pole. The gelding continued to swiftly gain on the leader while racing four-wide down the center of the course. Who Took the Money then kicked clear with just under a furlong to run, eventually crossing the wire an easy winner.

Bred in Louisiana by his owner Allied Racing Stable LLC, Who Took the Money is one of three winning runners out of Speights’ Colony, by Speightstown. The gelding hails from the female family of multiple Stakes winner Ms. Aerosmith and Graded Stakes winner Illiquidity.

Street Boss is the sire of over 60 Stakes winners worldwide, including G1 Cox Plate hero Anamoe, who has now won seven G1 Stakes races.
