Two new winners in two days for Blue Point

Mondrial strikes on debut in France while Specific Times wins at York

Leading first-crop sire Blue Point took his winner count to 18 with a double on Saturday and Sunday.

First too record a victory was Specific Times at York on Saturday, when she made all the running to win a valuable Nursery by two lengths. 

Trained by Charlie Johnston, the Times Of Wigan-homebred filly was making her fourth career start.

A day later in France, Mondrial ran out an impressive debutant scorer over 1400m at Chantilly. Bred by Dieter Burkle and trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, the €100,000 Arqana August yearling won going away by three-quarters-of-a-length.

Blue Point has now sired 18 individual winners, two more than his nearest rival Soldier’s Call and nine more than and other European first-crop stallion. He runners are led by impressive Royal Ascot scorer Big Evs.
