Two Darley-sired G2 winners on second day of Ascot

Sabana Perdida and Langs Lash are victorious at the Royal Meeting for Cape Cross and Noverre

Tough Cape Cross mare Sabana Perdida (pictured) took her wins’ tally into double figures with her most glorious victory to date in the G2 Windsor Forest Stakes (2000m) on the second day of Royal Ascot.

The three-quarter length triumph over favourite Heaven Sent made it three Group wins in a row for the French-trained five-year-old, who has now won ten of her 19 starts and been placed on a further four occasions.

Bred by Musaed Abo Salim, Sabana Perdida started her racing career in Italy, before switching to Alan de Royer-Dupre’s stable in Chantilly. She is out of the unraced Mr Prospector mare Capriola.

Noverre two-year-old Langs Lash posted a scintillating performance on only the third start of her career  when taking out the G2 Queen Mary Stakes over 1000m. A $31,000 breeze-up purchase, the game filly has only been beaten once when runner-up on her last start in the Listed Marygate Stakes. Langs Lash is out of Temple Street, by Machiavellian.
