Third winner for Authorized

Ambivalent strikes on debut in large-field mile maiden

Ambivalent had the first taste of a racecourse on Saturday night and showed plenty of ability when becoming the third winner for his first-season sire Authorized.

Racing in a large field over a mile on Wolverhampton’s Polytrack, the Roger Varian-trained youngster was a little green in the early stages but demonstrated great resolve when asked to go and win his race.

Bred by Darley and racing in the colours of Ali Saeed, Ambivalent is out of the Darshaan mare Darrery and is a half-brother to the black-type duo of Sunday Symphony and Al Waffi.

Authorized’s two other winners, Tamarrud and Witnessed, have also both won on debut.

Authorized stands at Kelvinside, NSW, for $22,000 (inc. GST).
