Tha’Ir makes it two

Godolphin colt becomes the second winner for New Approach with an impressive four-and-a-half-length victory

The vibes have been extremely positive regarding New Approach’s first crop and the young sire looked to have another promising horse in the making when, on 6 June, two-year-old colt Tha’Ir made all to win the six-furlong maiden at Ripon.

Having finished fourth on his debut on 20 May, the Godolphin colt had clearly learned from his experience and was driven clear inside the final furlong to win by four and a half lengths, looking to have plenty in hand in doing so.

Bred by Lodge Park Stud, Tha’Ir is out of the winning Green Desert mare Flashing Green, already dam of two Black type performers in Flashing Colour and Flash Dance. The colt’s third dam is the great producer Reprocolor.

New Approach is also sire of Dawn Approach, the unbeaten Stakes winner who is one of Europe’s highest-rated juveniles. He stands at Northwood Park at a fee of $33,000 including GST.
