Teofilo sires the first two in the G3 Give Thanks Stakes

Eziyra leads home Bloomfield in the Cork contest

Teofilo enjoyed an excellent evening on Tuesday 8 August when siring the first two home in the G3 Give Thanks Stakes, with his Classic-placed daughter Eziyra easily beating the lightly raced Bloomfield. Third in the Irish Oaks last time out behind Enable, Eziyra was always travelling strongly in the G3 Cork contest and when asked in the straight, she put daylight between herself and the field, eventually running out the two-and-a-half length winner.

Never out of the first three in seven career starts, Eziyra had previously won the G3 Park Stakes as a juvenile last September.

An Aga Khan homebred, Eziyra is a daughter of the Stakes-placed Dubai Destination mare Eytarna, a half-sister to four G1 winners in the Gold Cup winning pair Estimate and Enzeli, Classic heroine Ebadiyla and Moyglare Stakes Stakes winner Edabiya.

Teofilo has sired 26 Stakes horses this season including impressive Australian G1 winner Humidor and dual G2 hero Permian, who went so close last time out in the G1 Grand Prix de Paris. His four further G1 performers also include the Irish Classic pair Irishcorrespondent and today’s heroine Eziyra, taking his tally of British or Irish Classic performers to eight, only beaten by his own sire Galileo.

He will be standing this coming season at a fee of $44,000 Inc GST.
