Tentyris dominant in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes

Son of Street Boss unleashes explosive turn of foot to capture stallion-making sprint at Flemington

Tentyris, the outstanding three-year-old son of Street Boss, produced a breathtaking performance to win the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes over 1,200m at Flemington on Saturday, 1 November, confirming his standing as one of the most exciting colts in training.

Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman and ridden by Mark Zahra, Tentyris was slightly slow into stride but quickly recovered, settling midfield before shifting clear at the 400m. From there, he unleashed a sharp turn of foot, surging past his rivals to score a dominant and decisive victory.

A homebred for Godolphin Australia, Tentyris is out of the Exceed And Excel mare Deity, herself a daughter of the brilliant four-time G1 winner Divine Madonna.

Tentyris’s record now stands at six starts for three wins, one second and one third, earning A$1,768,100. As a juvenile, he captured the G2 Todman Stakes at Randwick and shared victory in the Listed Talindert Stakes at Flemington before finishing runner-up in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes. This spring, he added the Listed Gothic Stakes at Caulfield before his emphatic Coolmore success.

Street Boss, now the sire of 11 individual G1 winners, continues to excel through progeny such as Tempted, runner-up in The Everest, and the Champion Anamoe.

Godolphin will now weigh up future options for Tentyris, with the immediate target likely to be the G1 Champions Sprint on Saturday, 8 November at Flemington, before potential international campaigns at Royal Ascot or Dubai are considered.

Tentyris’s Coolmore victory further highlights the strength of the Street Cry sire line and its continued success in Australia.
