Tempted burst out of the pack to claim the G2 Run To The Rose over 1,200m at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 13 September to complete a winning Black-Type treble for Darley sire Street Boss this month.
First-up under the care of new trainer Ciaron Maher at Moss Vale, Tempted under Ethan Brown ran down Beiwacht to score easily with Skyhook a well-beaten third.
The victory was the three-year-old’s third at Black-Type level, adding to her juvenile wins in the G2 Reisling Stakes and G2 Percy Sykes Stakes, both over 1,200m at Randwick back in the autumn.
Tempted could now be aimed at the G1 Golden Rose over 1,400m at Rosehill in two weeks and/or next month’s $20 million The Everest (1,200m) at Randwick.
Now boasting four wins and two placings from seven starts for prize-money earnings of $1,587,600, Tempted joined Quiet Street (out of Serene) from the Listed Untappable Stakes over 1,300m at Kentucky Downs on 7 September, and Pericles (Accessories) from the G2 Tramway Stakes (1,400m) at Randwick a day later as most-recent winners for the ageless Street Boss.
The former elite US sprinter has sired 1,037 winners of 3,117 races worldwide worth almost A$167 million, including 83 Stakes winners of 169 Black-Type races.
Street Boss heads the stallion roster at Darley’s Northwood Park property near Seymour in Victoria, standing for a service fee of $66,000, GST inclusive.
