Sharp at Saratoga

Hard Spun's 14th winner is Seeker

Hard Spun was represented by his 14th winner September 5 when two-year-old colt Seeker was sharp at second asking at Saratoga.

During the five and one-half furlong race the heavy favorite dashed to the early lead under strong hold from Julien Leparoux. In the sloppy stretch the colt kicked into gear to prove quite the best.

Bred by Winchell Thoroughbreds, Seeker is out of the Stakes winning/Graded-placed Olympio mare Classic Olympio. He is a half brother to Stakes winner/Graded-placed Simplify as well as Classify, also a Stakes-winner.

Hard Spun currently leads all US first-crop sires by winners with 14. Unbeaten at two, Hard Spun was a famously fast winner of the G1 King's Bishop Stakes at Saratoga. His winners include G2 Superlative Stakes winner Red Duke and Groud-placed Questing.

Hard Spun is standing the current southern hemisphere breeding season at Northwood Park, Victoria, at a fee of $16,500 (ic GST).
