Pericles became the third G1 winner this season for Street Boss when capturing the G1 Futurity Stakes over 1,400m at Caulfield on Saturday, 21 February.
A three-time G2 winner, Pericles stepped to the highest level under Craig Williams, settling just off the speed before finishing strongly from fourth on the home turn to defeat Buckaroo by three-quarters of a length, with Treasurethe Moment a nose away in third. The winner stopped the clock at 1:22.61.
Prepared by Bjorn Baker, Pericles was first-up following two barrier trials in Sydney. The victory marked his eighth career win, alongside 12 placings from 32 starts, with earnings now totalling $6,979,365.
Bred by Godolphin, Pericles is out of the outstanding broodmare Accessories. Pericles has a four-year-old half-brother Lavalier and a two-year-old half-sister (Abaya) by Ghaiyyath.
Pericles joins fellow G1 winners Tentyris, successful in the G1 Lightning Stakes, and Tempted, who added to her top-level record earlier this season, as Group winners for Street Boss in the 2025/26 racing season.
Street Boss has sired winners from 1,000m to 1,600m this season, across juvenile, three-year-old and weight-for-age company. Globally, he is responsible for 3,234 race wins, including 88 individual Stakes winners.
A filly by Street Boss realised NZ$475,000 at the recent Karaka Yearling Sale, reinforcing continued commercial demand for the sire, who stood last season at Northwood Park in Victoria for a service fee of $66,000 (GST inclusive).
