New winners for freshman stallions

Untouchable colt Mik Yelrow remains unbeaten; Dubai Destination sires winner in South Africa

Mik Yelrow, who was Darley freshman sire Untouchable's third winner, remained unbeaten on 11 May when doubling his tally at Gunnedah.

Trained by Jeff Englebrecht at Muswellbrook, the juvenile colt gave weight to all bar one of his rivals, winning by one-length in the 1200m contest. He will now probably head to the Inglis Scone Challenge run on 22 May.

Bred by M R & M A Thew, he is out of the Nassipour mare Lady Criquette and from the family of good European performers Patriarch and My Memoirs.

Another Darley first-season stallion on the mark was Dubai Destination, when his colt Predestination was victorious at Greyville in South Africa.

Trained by Joey Ramsden, he was making his second start in the 1600m Juvenile Maiden, and appreciating the step up in trip from his debut, won comfortably by one-and-a-half lengths. He is the second foal out of the unraced Silver Hawk mare, Dragoncharm and realised $75,000 when sold as a yearling at Inglis 2007 Premier Yearling Sale.

He becomes Dubai Destination’s fourth individual winner from his first Australian crop, which includes the consistent Stakes performer Dubai To Sydney.
