New Stakes winner for Kheleyf

Moonlight Red lands the Premio Mantovani in Milan

Kheleyf (pictured), a consistent source of speedy juveniles, recorded a new Stakes-winning two-year-old on 4 July when Moonlight Red landed the Listed Premio Mantovani in Milan.

In winning the seven-and-a-half-furlong contest by a neck, the filly recorded her second win in three starts, having won over seven furlongs in Rome last month.

Bred by Islanmore Stud, Moonlight Red is out of the winning Rainbow Quest mare Mill Rainbow, a half-sister to five Black type performers including G3 winner Miss Caerleona – dam of two Group winners in Karen’s Caper and Miss Coronado. Kheleyf has now sired 14 individual Black type performers, including G1-placed, G2 winner Sayif.

Kheleyf stands at Kelvinside at a fee of $16,500 including GST.
