New Stakes winner down under for Dubawi

Golden Millennium triumphs at Randwick as Shamardal’s Faint Perfume claims second in the AJC Oaks

Dubawi has already been represented by seven black type performers in the northern hemisphere and his first Australian crop received a boost when Golden Millennium won the Listed Cargo Bar Keith Mackay Quality at Randwick on Saturday.

She is the last foal of the Eagle Eyed mare Manyara, who died last year, and the filly has now won and been placed twice in five runs. Among Dubawi's other Stakes scorers are the Group Two winners Sand Vixen and Poet's Voice and he has already enjoyed Listed success in Europe this season courtesy of Worthadd.

The first of three top-flight races on the Randwick card was the Patinack Farm AJC Oaks, in which Shamardal’s dual Group One winner Faint Perfume posted a game effort from her stalking position near the rear of the pack, running on strongly to take second.
