Chattering Classes, daughter of Ghaiyyath, comfortably landed the G3 Silken Glider – her first victory – at the Curragh on Tuesday 20 October. Her previous effort saw the Racing Post label her as eye-catching and she duly stepped up with her one and a half-length success, leading just inside the final furlong, over The Good Wife.
The race was kept in the Dubawi line again, with Ghaiyyath’s sire Dubawi producing last year’s winning filly Sugar Island, who placed third in the G1 Epsom Oaks earlier this season. Chattering Classes was shrewdly purchased by BBA Ireland at Tattersalls Book 2 for 52,000gns from her breeder Herbertstown House Stud. She’s out of the G3-placed mare Asterella (Olympic Glory).
Ghaiyyath stands at Northwood Park in Victoria at $88,000 inc GST. His record stands at 11% Stakes winners-to-runners from his first southern hemisphere crop and already includes dual Classic winner, Observer.
