Medusa’s Miss scores by four

Henny Hughes filly Medusa’s Miss proved that betting odds don’t matter, winning by over four lengths on debut at the price of 50/1 at Kembla Grange on March 7.

Jumping well from the middle of the line, the Kevin Mosses-trained Medusa’s Miss sat just behind the leaders and as the field rounded the home turn, jockey Jackson Matthews allowed the filly to stride to the lead, and she just kept going, eased down to score a dominant victory.

Bred by Eliza Park Stud in Victoria, Medusa’s Miss is out of the At Talaq mare Cleopatra’s Girl, a sister-in-blood to Listed winner Southern Maid and also a half-sister to Talequet, the dam of Listed winner Pestalozzi. A half-sister to the five-time G1 winner Mummify, Medusa’s Miss is the third southern hemisphere winner from the first crop of Henny Hughes.
